My name is Michael Joseph Bernier. My father was Laurent Joseph (or it may have officially been Joseph Laurent) Bernier, born in Canada in 1931 (he died in Georgia in 1988). His father was Hormidas (may be mis-spelled) Joseph Bernier, according to a copy of a marriage certificate I have obtained from New Hampshire. This certificate shows he married a Patricia June Sheltry in 1950, but he never spoke of her to my mother (whom he married in 1961 and divorced in 1980) or to any of us children (I am the oldest of four sons). I am trying to locate information on anyone else in my father's line, living or deceased, including his earlier marriage. He provided other names of relatives in a very sketchy family tree several years before he died, but I am not sure how accurate it is; I can provide this info if anyone would think it helpful. Thanks in advance for your assistance!
