Bernier Family Genealogy Forum

Hi Clyde,
Here is the info that I have gathered in an abreviated version:
I have found Olivier Langlois and Celina Bernier in the 1870 Census of Georgia, Franklin Co. Vermont. Listed right after Joseph and Julia Bernier. Also have found them in the same area in 1880. Joseph and Julia at this time were in Milton, Vermont. Several records I have come across link Celina to this family of Joseph and Julia. In my grandmothers baptism of my grandmother in Fitchburg, it lists her godparents as George Bernier and Rosann Bernier. Also my great grandfather's sister married Edouard (Edward Bernier in Fitchburg, MA. I have hit a brick wall with this family. I have tracked the Berniers from Vermont to Massachusetts to Connecticut. But have not found out parents of Joseph Bernier or Julia Laplante, or some of the other variations in her last name. This side of our family is much a mystery as after my great grandparents left Mass. with their kids and moved to Alberta, not much was said about this side of the family. Now it has been my mission to find out. I have been searching on and off for about 11 years with not much success going back beyond Joseph and Julia. I guess my next step will be contacting Vermont records and track some info Down. Anyway if you would like more info of what I have and if there is a connection to your Bernier's let me know, my email is lendi@telusplanet.net Thanks, Diana Desharnais
