Bernard, Luttrell, Chumbley, Turpin, Byrd Families

I am trying to locate James Henry Bernard married to Susie Bell Luttrell sometime before 1920. They are listed in the 1920 census in the tates district of casey county. There is no record of there marriage in Casey County.

I can not find James Henry anywhere. He is not listed in the Death index either. My Uncle says that he died in the late 60's but not sure of exact date. He believes he was born in 1887 because he always wrote his name on the wall of the outhouse with that date. The 1920 census lists his age as 45 so that is possible. Susie Bell was 16 at the time.

Uncle Willie says he used to shoot pool and gamble at a little pool hall in Harrodsburg. Uncle Willie's mother was Sara Bernard Turpin. His father Osborne Turpin was always in jail and Uncle Willie did not meet him til he was 20 years old. Thus James Henry was his guardian. Willie was notified during his tour of duty in Vietnam of his death and he believes it was the late 60's.

James Henry and Susie Bell had three children that I know of Vernon, Sara, and Dellie. Vernon married Bessie Byrd, Dellie married Roscoe Byrd, and Sara married Osborne Turpin.

Any help in this family would be greatly appreciated.

Thanking in advance
