Parents of Richard Bernard(1608-1650/51)

My immigrant ancestor was Richard Bernard, 1608-1650/51, who arrived in Virginia about 1646, with headrights for twenty people. He settled in Goucester Cty. Three generations later, family moved to Westmoreland Cty. My branch eventually moved to Petersburg in the early 1800's and then to Norfolk. I am looking for info about the parents of Richard Bernard. I have conflicting info: Francis Bernard (1568-1613) and Thomas Bernard (d. 1628). Please help. Thanks.
