Belanie was my ggrandfather. I have him on a 1880 census in SD (Dakota terr). He married Clara Bedard and moved to Fall River Mass, rumor has it they lived on aboat for a while. He is in the Mass census for 1900 and 1910. He is not in the 1920 for Mass, SD, or NY. Supposedly he was born in French Canada. Does anyone know exactly what French Canada is/was???
