I was so excited that I forgot to say anything about my antecedents. My immigrant ancestor was English and arrived in Virginia in about 1646. His name was Richard Bernard, and he was the 12th and last child of Francis Bernard of Huntingdonshire. He was married to Anna Corderoy (Cordray) of Wiltshire.
