I have recently found the birth year for this couple, 1786. They came to New Orleans (perhaps in 1843 from the port of Bordeaux) with two daughters, Mary E. and Alphonsine, ages 7 and 8. They were born in France. The story handed down in the family is that they were from Bernard, France. Could this be LeBernard in the Poitou area?
The age of the parents fit fine, but not with the girls based on data from other sources.
Any help appreciated.
