As a followup to my previous reply to your post, you say you are 100 percent sure that John Bernard born in Maryland, 1735, was the son of Robert Bernard. May I ask why you are so sure? I'm not being argumentative but if you have some evidence, I would appreceate knowing what it is.

I am descended from Richard Bernard, born 1702 in Gloucester County, Purton to be exact. Richard moved to Westmoreland County and subsequent generations were from Westmoreland and Stafford Counties before moving to Norfolk.

Richard, and presumably Robert, were the great-grandsons of the immigrant Richard Bernard (1608-1651), grandsons of Richard Bernard (1636-1691) and sons of John Bernard (died in 1709). The immigrant Richard Bernard was the son of
Richard Bernard (1568-1612), the last child of Francis Bernard (1520-1602). Francis was the son of John Bernard, grandson of the John Bernard who fought with Richard III.
