My mother was born a Berna and EJ was her cousin. I barely remember visiting them in Aransas Pass as a child. I had my sister ask my Mom about them. Here is my sister's response: "She said you might remember EJ and Myrtle Mae, as they used to come down a lot. They spent the night at our house when you had your tonsils out. But mom says no one has heard anything from them and that he died a long time ago, and that even his sister, Linda, was not called about his death, but read it in the newspaper. She said there were 2 more boys, James and Donnie. She has looked in the phone book when she has been in the Aransas Pass area, but hasn't found his name. She says there is a Berna in Rockport, but doesn't remember the name."
