To follow up on this thread: subsequent research has shown that my Browne ancestors in Bermuda do not connect back to the 17th century rector, Robert Browne, of St. Peter's church in St. George's. Rather it appears that my oldest Bermuda ancestor was an Adam Browne who first appears in the Bermuda records ca. 1789 and who became a prosperous shipwright eventually settling his shipard in St. George's. It appears that said Adam was born in Scotland ca. 1750.
Thanks to Mark Butler, Chris Browne, Norah McDowell, and others for this research.

George T. Galyon
