At the library yesterday, I was looking through a volume entitled, "Settlers of the Beekman Patent, Dutchess Co., New York", by Frank J. Doherty, published in 2007. Within his chapter on The Ogden Family, he states, on page 670, that John Ogden "was probably born ca 1671 or 1672 and married Susannah born Bermuda ca. 1676, dau. of Samuel and Abigail (___) Dunscombe". Wow, I thought. Somehow, Susannah's parents have finally been found! Then I noticed that the footnote to the above statement (#19) referred the reader to this Genforum Bermuda-Board message that I myself wrote two years earlier. In it, I'd merely suggested that, based on available evidence, Samuel and Abigail may have been the elusive Susannah's parents. I guess I was convincing. But it's another demonstration that what goes around comes around, particularly with regard to the internet. While I continue to believe that the above parental relationship is most likely, I caution interested researchers that it isn't yet established fact. Notify Administrator about this message?
