Benjamin joined the Army (54th regiment of Foot)at Wells in Somerset, England. He served in India and settled in Bermuda sometime before 1874 as in that year he married Mary Lavinia Tucker Munro, how he arrived there is an enigma. As far as I can find out the 54th never served in Bermuda and there is no record of him transferring to another regiment as far as I am aware.
Would appreciate any help in discovering how he arrived in Bermuda.
