I don't think I have found anything that will help, however, you be the judge.

HURT, Thomas Samuel – father Seth – mother Hannah (Place) – Hamilton Parish – bapt. 1798, July 31

Ewing Register – groom marriages – page 295
HURT, Seth – and – PLACE, Hannah – Hamilton Parish – marriage date: 1795, June 14.

Possibility:
As Hurt, Seth and Place Hannah did not marry until 1795. It is possible that your Daniel Place Hurt was born out of wedlock.
I cannot find any births of children under the surname PLACE with a Christian name of Daniel.
So I looked in the many lists of ‘NO NAME’ children.
There is a ‘NO NAME’, Daniel – parents not listed – baptism date: July 13, 1794 – comment: black child.

Richardson register – baptisms page 155
HURT, Jane, father Samuel and mother Elizabeth of St. George parish – date: 1757, Aug. 2
HURT, Ann – father Samuel and mother Elizabeth of St. George parish – date; 1758, Nov. 14.
HURT, Martha Pearman – father not listed – mother Sarah – St. George parish – date: 1788, June 23.

I’m sorry, the above is all I seem to have on the surname HURT.

Have you checked the Mormon site www.familysearch.org – look under ocean islands as well as Bermuda
Once again, I’m sorry to not be of more assistance to you.

Happy New Year, Judy
