Pvt Frederick Lea Smith MM, the son of Frederick and Ida Smith of "Cedarhurst", Hamilton, Bermuda was #22706, Fourth Battalion, Grenadier Guards. He died on Friday 12 October 1917 in the Third Battle of Ypres. As he had no known grave, he is commemorated on the Memorial in the Tyne Cot Cemetery at Zonnebeke, Belgium.

His details can be found on the Commonwealth War Graves Commission at http://www.cwgc.org.uk/detailed.asp?casualty=3065342

There are photos of the memorial on several websites, but I found the finest set rather poignantly on a German site at http://nibis.ni.schule.de/~rs-leer/kwe/kwe114.htm
