Hello. I wish to know if Bermuda marriages are indexed and are they public record?
My late great uncle Waldo Pierce Decker was a merchant mariner for 40 years. He was single according to the ship passenger lists each time he entered the USA during his career. The latest one I can find is 1957. Marital status on that one is not mentioned. He did in 1964 and his death certificate says he was married to Mary Decker, no maiden name. I have checked all the logical places in the USA he would likely have been and no marriage record is found. Now I am inquiring outside the USA.
Does anyone in Bermuda do free record lookups if the records are public? Thank you.
