How fortunate for me to have found your posting!
I was looking for SAMUEL J. DICKINSON who married "Eliza Mary ?" She was born 1818 in SC. They lived in Charleston, SC. and had daughter THERESA ANN 1833 - I stumbled across SAMUEL DICKINSON, b. Bef. August 07, 1683, Bermuda; d. Aft. January 13, 1720/21, brother's will, Bermuda. Child of MARY SHERLOCK and JOHN DICKINSON - obviously these dates are earlier ! THERESA DICKINSON married WILLIAM TROUT MCDONALD in 1856 MCDONALD and DICKINSON were both from Mariner families, he being a Blockade runner from Charleston to Bermuda during the Civil War.
My question is do you know of this DICKINSON family that moved to Charleston, SC. area? I have just found this connection to Bermuda and have not delved into researching in Bermuda very much until this week when I FINALLY received Theresa's father's name after about 6 years of searching! I would appreciate any input, information or guidance that you may be able to share with me -
