Forward Family

I am researching the Forward family. My Great Grandfather was Henry John, born in Bermuda, in 1854. He was recorded as a Nurse Child, aged 7 in the 1861 UK census. I think that a Nurse Child is either a foster child or adoption. The real questions are who were his father and mother, what were they doing in Bermuda, why did they send a 7 year old to London as a Nurse Child and where did the parents originally come from or were they themselves born in Bermuda?
Can anyone help?
