Hi Sean,
I have made some headway with my research but not much. You did direct me to look at history of the islands and places of my ancestors which I am. The Butterfield-Dunscombe family moved I believe in 1894. That year was a year of severe drought. Perhaps that is why they moved to Massachusetts. History does shed a light on our ancestors.
I still do not know who was the mother of Percy Butterfield who was born in March of 1877. She probably is also the mother of Margaret E. Butterfield born in March of 1879. William Nathaniel Butterfield was their father.Supposedly he was born in the Turk Islands and was orphaned and later went to Bermuda and married. After being widowed young he married Lydia Jane Dunscombe. William Nathaniel Butterfield had some brothers. One was named Ben Edgar and another I know of was named Samuel. But I do not know their parents' names.
The Turks history is very interesting but I do not know how to research for ancestors their.
Any help on this would be appreciated.
