Just another aside...in reference to the two Gilberts who were co-owners of the privateer Hawk.
Christchurch, in Warwick, Bermuda, is the oldest presbyterian church standing outside of the home countries, supposedly. She was built on land donated for the purpose in the 17th Century, as I recollect, by an earlier member of the Gilbert family. Christchurch, as I've mentioned, seems to have a number of dunscombes buried in its graveyard, with rather expensive looking memorial stones.
