Lawrence Dill (b. 1630)

Lawrence Dill is one of my brick walls; I've been trying to find his date of arrival in Bermuda for years, but can only find speculation.

Some have said that he was from England, and others have speculated that he was from Ireland. It's always possible, too, that he was actually born in Bermuda, and that everyone is wrong!!

Because he was a person of some importance who served on the Bermuda Council, and because there are many, many Dill descendants living in Bermuda, I'm surprised that there isn't more information on Lawrence.

I have checked ships' passenger lists for evidence of his parents, and for Lawrence specifically, and I made a trip to the Bermuda Historical Society, which was a bit of a disappointment -- aside from visiting the beautiful island itself!!

Is anyone else on this forum researching the Dill family? If so, do you have any clues about his origins.

I'm certain that he was born in 1630 because he makes reference in 1686 to his age as being 56 at the time...
