I am researching the Leaycrafts of Bermuda, and they were by and large mariners with ships bringing goods into various U.S. ports such as Charles Town, S.C. (as it was called then). Then, they seem to have settled in North Carolina, South Carolina, and New York--as well as Quebec. It is difficult to ferret out the links.
