I also have a Julian ancestress, and the earliest data about Rene de St. Julian is the same as yours. Some of his sons came to NC, Guilford and Randolph counties and many of the descendants still are there. We were told that Rene was a Hugonot and was born in or near Normandy, and went with William of Orange to fight in the Irish/English war. So far I have not been able to prove this.
