Starting Sept. 30, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum
message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles
will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will
no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.
I am researching my ancestors two of whom were Bermudans called Samuel Saltus Ingham. The father's dates were 1769-1849 and he was a merchant and the Speaker of the House of Assembly. His son was born in 1816 and he was a member of the colonial legislature.
The father was married to Elizabeth Frith and the son to Margaret Richardson Leaycraft. Elizabeth Frith's ancestors were William and Christopher Smith, who originated from Bodmin in Cornwall. Their descendants are published on the net, and that is how I traced my family right back that far, but I would very much like to know more about the two Inghams and the place they had in Bermudan society, and also to find out what the Smiths did when they came over to Bermuda. I would very much like to be able to locate any portraits also.
