Thank you so much.

I don't know if any of the notes are connected to mine; however, I do have some records on a James John HUGHES who might be in the area of early STOKES in SC.

Also, the Francis WATLINGTON reference.... I suppose that might also be spelled WADLINGTON? I've been looking at a Peter GREEN with son William GREEN in the same area as William WADLINGTON.

It's really round about; but, this Peter GREEN's wife was Thamar (Edgecombe Co NC deeds & old Abbeville probate), sister? of Philemon WATERS (Is he the same one w/WASHINGTON at Battle of Meadows?). (Peter & Thamar GREEN named a son Philemon).

There was a Loyalist Thomas WATERS whose confiscated estate was given to Col. Elijah CLARK.

Col CLARK (according to DRAPER)had property on the Pacolet River during the early settlement of upstate SC--Jeremiah STOKES owned property on the Pacolet before 1790.

This will take lots of checking and help from the GREEN, HUGHES, STOKES and WATERS researchers; but, again, thank you for the suggested sources to be checked and the notes.
