William Bermingham, 1921, Island Eddy, Co. Galway

I am looking for information regarding William Bermingham who was born on Island Eddy, Co.Galway in January 1921. His parents were Patrick and Kate (Catherine) Bermingham.
He emigrated to America (likely Massachusetts) around 1950 where I think he stayed with family, whose surname was Conlon.

He is my grand-uncle and my family lost contact with him, so I'd like to know if anyone knows anything about what happened to him.
