David- -
My greatgrandfather, John Birmingham, was born in Ireland-exact location unknown. He was a tailor by trade. John emigrated to the USA and initially settled in New Jersey. When he had some success, he sent back to Ireland for his seven siblings and his mother, Honora. He later moved to the area around Batavia in western New York (Genesee Co.) and married Mary O'Leary. They had about seven children, among them my gradfather, William. John sometime used Bermingham and sometimes Birmingham.
Some of the siblings may have stayed on the east coast and found their way to Phildelphia. Any connection?
