Kevin: It just so happens that the Ligon Book also has a tremendous amount of information on the Beauchamps in Chapter III (pages 107-142) On pages 114, 115, 116 and 117 William addresses the Family of Richard de Beauchamp, Earl of Warwick.
The Beauchamp and Lygon connection is because of the marriage between Sir Richard Lygon (1466-1556) and Anne Beauchamp (1462-1535). Anne Beauchamp was the daughter of Richard Beauchamp, 2nd Lord Beauchamp of Powyck. Upon the death of Richard Beaucahm, without any male heirs, his title and lands were inherited by his daughter's husband Sir Richard Lygon. Thus the title of Lord Beauchamp was passed down in the Lygon Family to Sir William Lygon, 8th Earl Beauchamp who when he passed away had no male heirs and thus the title ended.
Hope this is of some help.
