Burki has several spellings today. usually spelled bergey, burky or berky. only one bergey person is known to have come to the new world his name was hans ulrich burge. he came from switzerland, settled in lower salford around 1725. there was an excellent and exhustive book written by david bergey around 1925 all about the bergey history in america. perhaps you may find it in the library of congress, or at your local historical library. i know the mennonite heritge center in harleysville pa has one, and also the goshen historical library in goshen ind. best of luck.
