My great-grandfather, Andrew Bergstrom, immigrated to America in 1862 from Varmland, Sweden. His parents were Scots who had left Scotland for Sweden in the 1830s.I believe the name Bergstrom was an assumed name. The Scottish name is believed to be Whitrock.
Andrew settled in Minneapolis, MN. He married another Swedish immigrant named Anderson. He became head of the Minneapolis water works and is credited with inventing the water meter. He died in 1903.Just curious if anyone thinks he might have a link to this family.
