On July 25th I attended a Bergstrom Family Reunion in Davis, West Virginia. About 40 people from the extended family gather each year in the beautiful Blackwater Falls State Forest. Another is scheduled for that time in 1999. The family who settled there are descendents of Fridolf Bergström who was drawn to the area when he immigrated because of the thriving timber industry. He came from Alingsås in Västergötland, and my family in Illinois is related through my grandfather, Johan (called John here)Bergström, also from Alingsås.
