Richard, I don't know if this will help, but the name you have given sounds alot like one of my ancestors. My family is from the Hesse Region of Germany and all of the male children were given the middle name of Johanns which always came before the first name, such as Johanns Cristoph Bergmann, who is my 5th great grandfather, there are also several brothers, friedrich, Hienrich, Jacob.
