Trying to trace my father's side of the family. The last name could end with either 1 or 2 (n)s. Have gone back to Frederick John Bergman, b.October, 1837 in Germany but have no idea where. He came to the states in 1853 and settled in or around Chicago. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.
