Floyd E. Berglund, 86, died June 29, 2005, at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita. He was born May 29, 1919, in rural Pawnee County, the son of John A. and Ellen C. Bergquest Berglund. A lifetime resident of Larned, he was a retired carpenter and farmer. He belonged to the First Christian Church, American Legion, V.F.W. Post 7271, all of Larned, Western Kansas Chapter of American EX-POW. He was a US Army, WW-II Veteran and Ex-Prisoner of War. On August 15, 1948, he married June Alene Meckfessel at Larned. She survives. Other survivors include, three sons, Harold and Elden both of Larned, and Myron, Pocatello, Idaho, one sister, Linnea Miller, Ridgecrest, California, one grandchild, four step-grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Earl, Leonard, John and Edward, and three sisters, Irene Gardner, Alouise Reekie and Eleanor Zink. Funeral will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Morell Funeral Home, Larned, with Pastor Dan Lundgren presiding. Visitation will be from Noon Friday until 8:00 p.m. and from 9:00 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Larned Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to the First Christian Church in care of Morell Funeral Home, P.O. Box 124, Larned, Ks 67550-0124.
