BERGLUND Erik Philip Ended his life in the afternoon, April 11, 2009, at his Victoria home. Survived and deeply loved by his mother Ann-Charlotte and his sister Jessica with husband Volker and nephew Hugo. Predeceased by his father Urban in 1979. Grieved by family and friends everywhere, mainly in Canada and Sweden. Erik was born in Vancouver, November 15, 1965, raised at the family ranch at Upper Nicola, B.C., and then in Banff and Kaleden, B.C. He graduated in 1983 from Penticton Secondary School, graduated with a B.Sc. Biology (First Class) from UVic in 1987 and attended two years at the UBC Faculty of Medicine, before discovering he really wanted to study Architecture. In 1995 Erik received his M.Arch. from the UBC School of Architecture and then enjoyed work in his beloved Victoria, including opening his own office in late 2007. Erik was kind, faithful, generous, gentle, intelligent, caring and compassionate. He loved nature, hiking, skiing and paddling, and his guitars. He was always there for anyone in need and had so much insight into what troubled him. Until the very end, Erik kept searching for some lightness of being. Why did you leave so soon? Come gather to remember Erik, Saturday, April 25, 2009, 2-5 p.m. at Goward House, 2495 Arbutus Road, Victoria (250-477-4401). A fund in Erik's name has been set up at the Grasslands Conservation Council of B.C. phone 250-374-5787, gcc@bcgrasslands.org In one of the stars, I shall be living. In one of them, I shall be laughing. And so it will be as if all the stars were laughing when you look at the sky at night. The Little Prince, Antoine de Saint-Exupery
