Hello Cecile: I am a descendant of JOSEPH BERGERON, son of Andre Bergeron and Marguerite Dumay. My grandfather Irenee (Rene) was a seventh generation descendant. My problem ... he married Aurore Bergeron (no relation) and I am trying to trace these Bergerons as well. As for the unrelated Bergerons, I found this on the French-Canadian page of Pierre Bergeron. According to him, there were several branches of Bergerons. Jacques and Dominique (brothers) came from Provence France, Francois came from Poitou, Michel from l"Auvergne; Barthelemy from La Touraine, Jacques from La Lorraine, and Andre from L'aunis. 1. (a) JACQUES BERGERON dit Johiel married Gertrude Moral in 1669 1. (b) DOMINIQUE (brother of Jacques) dit Johiel married Marie-Anne Milot in Quebec in 1698, 2. FRANCOIS BERGERON married Etiennette Leclerc in Three Rivers (Trois Rivieres) Quebec in 1667. 3. MICHEL BERGERON established himself in Port Royal Acadia and married Marie-Anne Gauthier. 4. BARTHELEMY BERGERON dit d'Ambroise, married Genevieve Serreau from St Aubin at Port Royal in Acadia. 5. JACQUE BERGERON dit Larose married Marguerite Renaud on May 19, 1749. 6. FRANCOIS BERGERON married Marie-Josephte Collet in Montreal in 1737. 7. ANDRE BERGERON married Marguerite Dumay (Demer) in 1674 (This is the line of my maternal grandfather). I hope this helps you!!
