My grandmother Emma Berger immigrated to America in 1911 at the age of 19. She was from the city of Bern and came to reside in Monroe Wisconsin. She married my grandfather Karl Frick (from Schwenden, canton Bern) about 1915 and they raised their family on dairy farms in Tomah and later in Glenwood City, Wisconsin. She had a sister Marie Berger also from Bern who immigrated to America after her marriage to Herman Linder from Interlaken. Marie arrived in the US in 1905, a year after her husband Herman Linder. They relocated from Wisconsin to Cardston, Alberta Canada. Their son was the famous Canadian rodeo champion Herman Linder born in 1907. He is in the National Rodeo Hall of Fame and there is a genealogical record for the Linder Family written by O.D. and Penny Linder. Emma and Marie's father was a postal worker in the city of Bern, but I do not know his name or whether they had other siblings.
