My mother-in-law descends from the Berger-Ott line. In 1996 I took the 1967 genealogy and updated it.

If you have access to Houston's Clayton Library or Bastrop Public Library in Bastrop,Texas, you will find copies of the revamped genealogy for the years 1870-1920.

Some of this information has also been incorporated into the 2nd addition of "Rockne" by Rev. Goertz. Copies are also found in these libraries. Bastrop County Museum may still have copies available for sale.

The Berger-Ott family still meets every other year in April for a get-together at St. Mary's in String Praire, TX. Mostly Otts come now.

I also address Joseph and Rosina Berger. I do not know the relationship of this couple to the Ehler-Berger-Ott families in both Fayette and Bastrop Cos., Texas. Many of the descendants do not know either. This couple is buried at St. Mary's Catholic Church in String Prairie.

Hope this will be of benefit to Texas Ott researchers.
