I am a Berger from Switzerland in Switzerland... My family is originally from the little town of Lauperswil in the Emmental, canton Bern. The name is very originally there, and I know, that some were emmigrating to north america from there. You need to know though, that these people were usually very poor mountain farmers, the children often didn't grow up with their families, so it might be hard finding a specific person. There also is a "tribe" of very old Bergers in the canton of Solothurn.
