Bonaventure Berger was the son of Frederic Guillaume Berger and Marie-Euphrosine Gaudreau.Frederic Guillaume was born Friedrich Wilhelm Nurnberger in Hesse, Germany. He came to Canada in 1776 as one of the many Hessian soldiers recruited by the British to fight the American colonists. He was captured in 1777 and spent the remainder of the war as a prisoner. After the war ended, he returned to Canada. He and his wife (married at L'Islet, Quebec on Feb. 12, 1787) had the following children: Bonaventure, Germain, Marie-Christine, Marie-Theotiste, Marie-Anne, Celestin, Marie-Genevieve, and Jeremie.
Bonaventure married Angele Talon on Nov. 21, 1826 at Notre Dame de Bonsecours, L'Islet, Quebec.Angele was the daughter of Pierre-Paul Talon and Charlotte Talbot.I have the names of Angele's siblings as well.
