Sandy -

I have very little on my early Berger line. This is what I have - any connection?

Christopher (Bergere) Berger (b. Alsace Lorraine) was a Captain in the Gendarmes in Karlsrhue, Ger. and a member of the West Caln Baptist Church in Baden Baden, Ger. I do not know if he had any siblings, or what his wife's name was. I know of one son, so far, William Berger (b. 14 Jul 1847, Alsace Lorraine, d. 5 Feb 1920, Phila., PA, buried Ivy Hill Cem.) m. in prob. PA, Anna Gruhler (b. 23 Sep 1845, Weisbaden, Germ. d. 20 Apr 1936, Phila., PA). William became the head gardener at the spas and gardens in Baden Baden before immigrating to the US. He owned and operated Berger Bros. Florists (wholesale and retail) in Phila., with his sons. William and Anna had 13 children.
