Since Carl/Gertie were in DeKalb County Illinois on the 1910, and presumably Gertie was there on the 1900, it is almost certain that they married in DeKalb County. Unfortunately I do not have the index for the 1915/1916 time period to prove that. However, the records should be available through either the county or state level.

Anna C. Swanson is listed on the 1920 census Cortland Township in DeKalb County as a widow but August is not listed on the following death index so presumably he died sometime between 4/1910 and 1916. Some birth/death records are available in DeKalb County prior to 1916.

Illinois Death Index 1916-1950:
Anna C. Swanson, 95yo, d.4/16/1942 Cortland Township DeKalb County, Cert#119

The DeKalb County Genweb site has some people willing to do look-ups so you should check out the website.

I'll keep digging to see if I can come up with anything else on the family.....

I have no relationship to this family
