Bergwall/Bergvall of Rome, Georgia

Greetings,

Okay, okay, I know this forum is for "Berg", but I'm desperate! There is no forum at this point for Bergwall or Bergvall (the people I am searching for) and Berg is as close as I can get. Besides, alot of Bergs and Bergwalls are of Scandanavian descent so there are probably some family ties.

I am seeking information about the John Bergwall/Bergvall family of Rome, Georgia circa 1910 - 1990. John immigrated to the USA from Sweden. His wife Matilda died and he remarried a lady by the name of Ellen. John had quite a few children including Ragland (born 1897), Eric (1899), Ernest and Everett. Ragland died January 26, 1919 while serving in the US Army (circumstances of death unknown). Eric also served in the army and died in 1976. John, Ragland, Eric, Ellen, and one other family member are buried in the New Armuchee Baptist Church cemetery about 8 miles north of Rome, Floyd County, Georgia.

Ernest had a son, Olaf Bergwall, who was a teacher and coach in Rome and vicinity from the 60s through the 80s. I don't know whether Olaf is living today or not. Olaf had at least two children, Rhett and Fancy. I don't know there whereabouts either. In fact, I can't find any member of the John Bergwall and Descendants family anywhere!

Help! I'm particularly interested in Ragland Bergwall. I am a freelance writer working on an article about the 1918-19 Spanish Influenza epidemic. I suspect, but am not certain, that Ragland may have succumbed to the flu.

Any help will be appreciated.

Sincerely,

Dan Roper
Rome, GA
