I have been reading your message for information about Beresfords living in Antrim today. As you can probably guess from my surname I was a Beresford before I married a Hanna!! There are in fact very few Beresords living around the antrim area. My father is from this branch his name is Thomas Samuel Taylor Beresford, he is the second son of Andrew Beresford and Molly Beresford nee Gamble( both now
deceased.)My grandfather was from a family of seven children four boys and three girls. Sons being, Edgar, Norman, Andrew (my grandfather) and Samuel, daughters Jeannie, Elizabeth(lily) and Margaret (Peggy). All of these sons died childless except obviously my grandfather. In getting to the point, My Great Grandfather was Samuel Beresford married to Mary Beresford (nee Carson). In turn his father my GG Grandfather was called Andrew Beresford and he married in 1869 a Jane Gibb from the townland of Nettlebush outside Antrim. He had a sister called Mary Beresford which I am almost 100% certain married to an Armstrong. The family around this time did attend Donegore Presbyterian church. I don't know if this makes you a far out relative but I would be interested in hearing from you if you have any further information. For my side of the family I have the job of keeping our family tree together and would be very interested if anyone else has any information.
