George and Phoebe Anna Blackford were my great grandparents.
George was born in Derbyshire, England to William Berresford and Mary Ann Hall.
Pheobe (Polly) was the daughter of Daniel W. Blackford and Mary (We think Warrick). Both buried in Achor Valley Baptist Church Cemetery near Negley, Ohio. Have not yet found these records. I do have Daniel W.'s Civil War papers which don't give me much except he was born in East Fairfield, Ohio in 1820.
My grandfather was the baby of George and Phoebe:
Lloyd George Berresford. My Mom is an identical twin Nora Lee (Berresford) Snyder.
Maybe you can solve a mystery for me......George and Phobe were married in Des Moines. Why? Where?
They both were born in Beaver County (PA) and Columbiana County (OH) and lived there before and after the wedding.
