Jackie, this can be confusing. Two brothers emigrated from Germany. They were Phillip Jakob and Heinrich C. BENZ. They both had sons named Henry. Phillip was know as Jacob BENCE and Heinrich was Henry BENZ. Henry Bence, son of Jacob, was 16 yrs old at the 1870 census, making his birthyear about 1854. His cousin, Henry BENZ, Jr (son of Heinrich), is reported in Biographies of Berkshire Co. Mass. as -----"of this union the following children were born; Henry, in 1855, m Bertha Irons and they have one child, Edward------Henry married a second ime and now lives in Utica, NY----". According to his father's obit, Henry was still in Utica, Ny in Nov. 1904. If you think there is a connection please contact me at SAGEMOM@webtv.net
