I cannot believe I did not get back to you on this!!!
I am related to a Bertha Johanna Benz,Daughter of Henry Gottlieb (G. Henry or Heinrich Benz)and Christina (Baeder) Benz whom (I believe)married a Bishoff later. Her family came from Wuerttemberg Germany and immigrated possibly to Indiana and then Montana.
Henry was a clinical engineer - interested in dyes
I have seen his name written in many forms. G Henry, Henry Gottlieb, Heinrich,
b abt. 7/1853 d abt. 1885 m Christina Baeder b abt 11/14/1857 d abt. 1/1/1948.
I believe Henry was born in Goppinjen Germany, and Christina, in Wuerttemberg/Baden, Germany. Came to USA together - not sure when.
One Child, Bertha Johanna Benz b abt. 7/31/1882.
