Looking for information on Bentz family. Have been told my relatives that the first Bentz in my family arrived in America from Germany. Two brothers, one named John, the other Joe. We believe that they arrived in Louisiana. My family tells me that the original name was BENZ but that the brother with the first name of John was mistaken listed as BENTZ. His brother Joe was reported to have gone into the Texas area but his name was recorded as BENZ. I am a decendant of John Bentz. I am trying to get any information to help me trace the family back to Germany and then to America. My father was Lawrence W. Bentz, Jr. My grandfather was Lawrence W Bentz, Sr. My great grandfather was John Bentz and is buried in Missisippi. I believe that the father of John Bentz would have been the Bentz that came from Germany. Any information would be helpful! Thanks.
