Hello! Just posted a reply to the other posting of yours and then found this one. Thanks again for all of your valuable information, this time especially with the border history, farm/land info, and cemetery info.

Ella has info that you may not have (?) about the Bethlehem congregational she was given from a Ms. Gall (her Great Gpa was your George Friedrich so I'm sure you know who Ms. Gall is)of how it started, where it was, who the members were, and info on the babies buried there like you mentioned. I have yet to get this complete list of babies buried there from Ella but Ms. Gall states she has the list as well. This would be a good thing to email Ella about because she has the answers here I bet. I'll be calling her soon. The document from Ms. Gall I have states in reference to the babies, "some are buried on a little hill or knoll between Friedrich and Chris Bentz's farm homes".

As for Philipp and Eva Bentz's children, you mentioned perhaps Eva b.30 Sep 1903 was one of those babies. I do not have a death date for her but my Grand Aunt Christina (Ella's niece) who was the last of 12 children lived with her mother Karolina(Bentz)in California and remembers having this mysterious stranger show up at the door asking for Karolina. When Karolina came to the door the mystery person played twenty questions with her and in the end it was Karolina's sister Eva! Apparently it had been so long since they had seen each other that Karolina did not recognize her own sister! Aunt Christina tells me her Aunt Eva died in Fresno, CA. so she is not one of the babies.

Oh, also in Philipp and Eva Bentz's family Bible I/we have their marriage date of 15 Feb 1892 as kindly transcribed by Herr G. Dockter, I'm sure you know him too. This still doesn't answer our question though of where they married--except for the Adeline Gnirk resource. Again, what is her source for that info? It appears (I have no proof) to me they immigrated seperately and married in NE.

Yes I am very interested in Karolina's siblings and don't have much info on them yet, but I think Ella might. I have not had any contact with M. Mott but I think Ella might have. Like I said, I'm going to be calling her soon to catch up and swap new discoveries/info after I get myself together after my Gma's passing. I'm taking a bit of a break right now, much needed.

Thank you for posting a query to "The Anoka History Group" about Philipp's family. Bless you for being such an amazing and generous source/cousin.

Not being nit-picky here, it's a very common mistake and I used to do it too, but Philipp's name is spelled Philipp with one "l" and two "p"'s. It's spelled that way in the family Bible, the Declaration of Intent for Naturalizations, the Naturalization records, ASHGR, among many others. Just a silly, small technicality. I bet you get several variations for your George Friedrich too--and I've probably written them all.

I'll be passing on your recent postings to Ella via snail mail. We'll keep you informed and thanks again Joe!
