Jack, I sent email to the listed address, but it was returned to me, so I copied and pasted here.
Hello Cousin, I have the Bentleys in a straight line all the way
from myself to Thomas Bentley b.1700. I don't have enough branching
though to get the maiden name of James Martin Bentley's wife Tabitha. My
mom, still living, remembers going with her mother to a store owned by
Morgan(?) Hubbard in Jenkins, KY.
She says he asked her mother, Tabitha Viola Anderson Fleming who
she was related to. When my grandmother told him that she was the
daughter of Benjamin Anderson and Martha Caroline Bentley, he started
explaining to them how he was kin through her mother.
As she was only 8-9 years old at the time, it didn't stay with
her. She has always felt as if her great grandmother Tabitha, for whom
her mother was named, might have been a Hubbard, but has absolutely
nothing else to base it on.
I would also like to find the parents of Elizabeth Laws, wife of
James Bentley. Do you have any of this?
