Catharine Benson was the daughter of James Benson and Mary Walley of Armstrong County, PA. Mary Walley was the daughter of Nicholas Walley and his wife Maria. There is some information online about these families, including Nicholas' will and land records for James Benson's estate (though the online version references Catharine as the wife of ____ McMillen). I have an electronic copy of the sale of some land owned by the descendents of James Benson that includes Catharine Benson and Thomas Mullen (of Adams County, Ohio) and will send it to you if you email your address to me.
We are distant cousins -- Mary Benson, sister of Catharine Benson Mullen, was my g-g-g-grandmother. She married Robert Gregg (Gragg/Graggs) and moved to Brown County, Ohio in the mid 1830's.
